A Spinner's Flock (of Legos)

Why yes, we did get Caleb Big Boy Legos this weekend, how did you guess? I decided he was ready to make the move from the huge Legos for toddlers up to the little Legos for big kids, so being the sensible mom that I am, I sprung for the 1000 piece set. After all, if it ends up all over the house, what's the real difference between 500 and 1000 tiny plastic things? Watching him play with them, I had a flashback to building Legos when I was little and for some reason I remembered making sheep. I don't know if my brother remembers this or not and I don't know if this is how we used to do them, but Caleb got a kick out of his little flock this morning when he woke up. Sheep Geeks among you will notice that there is a Blue Faced Leicester in there.

In knitting and spinning news, I've been working furiously on the Mystery Stole and I'm pretty sure I can get it finished or near finished by this weekend, which will be really nice. One thing good about doing it right before the "launch" of the knitalong is that its still pretty fresh in my mind so I should be able to anticipate any trouble spots that might come up. I am also halfway through with the Guardians of Lipstick singles and if I put some time in on it during the evenings, I might get it done this week too.

Finally, I want to wish my sister in law, Mindy, a Happy Birthday today. She doesn't knit or spin, but she reads the blog anyway. She married my brother almost 9 years ago (if I'm doing the math right) and hasn't murdered him in his sleep (she is a very patient woman). She is the mother to two neurotic Golden Retrievers. She doesn't mind if I sing along with the radio (off key) on a road trip and will usually sing along with me. She is a wonderful person, the best sister in law anyone has ever had, a great friend, and the best thing that ever happened to my brother. Happy Birthday Mindy! Please leave her some birthday wishes in the comments since she doesn't have her own blog (she's not a knitter, its not required by law to have a blog in her case!)

The sheep are too cute! I love them lots. I'm so glad you made them and posted them. I agree completely that 1000 is not that big a jump from 500 and more legos is always a good thing.
