Sleeves for Autumn Leaves

DSC03253
I finished up the sleeves (and back and front yokes) for my Autumn Leaves sweater last night. As soon as I finish up on the computer this morning I'm going to weave in the ends and block this section out. I don't normally block pieces in the middle of a sweater, but since I have to sew the sleeves together and then pick up stitches along the bottom edge of the yoke for the body of the sweater, I think it will be easier and neater looking if I'm not fighting the natural roll of stockinette stitch. Oh, and for anyone who's asking, the pattern is Summer Solstice and while the pattern actually suggests that you knit the sleeves in the round, I chose to do mine flat since I don't enjoy sleeves on double points and I utterly detest short circular needles. (To be fair, I've never tried Magic Loop, but juggling cables on circulars makes me insane, so I have no real urge to try it either. I'm much happier sewing a seam.)

Caleb went back to school this week so Finn and Ramius and I are adjusting to having a quiet house during the day. It seems strange not to be discussing the finer points of Spongebob Square Pants all day long.

I love the yarn you chose for the sweater. It will be lovely for Fall. And, sleeveless it looks great on Finn! He is so handsome. I needed a good chuckle this morning and the photo provided it. Thanks!

Awww, what a gorgeous dog!!

I love the colour of that yarn. I hate using dpn's, I'd rather sew a seam too.

For what it's worth, you can knit sleeves on 2 circs, like over-grown socks. Just another option for you.

Hi, Finn! Chin scritches for the good boy!
