In Dreams

DSC04756
Friday afternoon I got the first clue from the In Dreams Mystery KAL and in a miracle of doggy goodness, Logan fell asleep after dinner and I cast on! (Not that Logan isn't a good dog, but Logan is approaching the teenage dog phase - until around Christmas time, so he's becoming a bit of a handful sometimes. I caught him moving furniture around the other day, apparently rugs aren't interesting enough to relocate anymore.) As you can see, I went with the Intuition colorway and my beads are crystal aurora borealis seed beads (this is taken without flash because the flash made the beads completely disappear from the photo.

I'm a little more than 1/3 of the way through this first clue but not quite to the halfway point. I don't remember the last time I worked with laceweight yarn and it's been about two years (I think) since I've used beads. There are a lot of beads in this design and while I've only worked three rows with beads so far, they're definitely slowing me down. Also, Caleb must have felt a tremor in the force, because as soon as I started the first bead row, he wandered into the room and wanted to snuggle up and watch TV with me. Anyone who's ever been around a 10 year old boy knows you drop everything when they want to spend time with you and if they'll let you hug them (without making gagging noises and pretending to die), that's just that much more important. So the beads and the boy are making for some slow knitting, but I have two weeks between clues and it's not a race.

Love the color and bead combination. And, yes, anytime a child (especially a boy) wants to cuddle, it's time to make that the first priority.

I totally agree about little boy cuddles -- especially when said little boy is still warm from sleeping in his bed.

My little boy (24 years old next week) STILL wants cuddles and KISSES ME IN PUBLIC without hesitation. :D

I downloaded the clue, but am struggling to finish up Celtic Icon -- one more-s8-row repeat and the sleeves are finished! -- before I start.

Yours is, as expected, beautiful.

I'm looking forward to watching your KAL progress! I've always wanted to do a Mystery KAL and I'm hoping you might consider doing another one :)

I have a 12 year old boy and I totally get it! When he lets me snuggle, I drop everything for that chance. Luckily, I still get them occasionally, whereas Dad is completely out of luck. A fist bump, maybe a slap on the shoulder in passing. That's it.

I am jealous of your In Dreams beginning....I'm struggling with interpreting the instructions.

Enjoy those sweet, little boy cuddles. They are precious, indeed.

Oh that looks awesome! I'm still waiting for the yarn I ordered for it :( I opted out of the beads, but seeing your's is making me wonder ...
