One Down, One to Go

DSC05326
I hope you all had a great weekend! We took a little trip to visit my In-Laws over the weekend and Logan got to swim in the pool for the first time! I didn't get any pictures because you can't take a camera into the water near a splashy dog. He really did well with the pool. Once he figured out where the steps were, he was soon leaping to me out in the water. His front end knows exactly what to do but his back end wasn't quite keeping up and when his back end sank in the shallow end, he decided it would be easier to just walk on his hind legs and paddle his way through the water with his front legs, than to swim. The problem with that is, eventually you run out of shallow end of the pool. I figured out that if I took a pool noodle, I could loop that under his lower belly and keep his hips up and then he could swim using all four feet (what a novel idea!) He loved being in the water and he wore himself out, which made it easier on their dog who is older and more dignified than Logan is. It was a fun weekend for all of us.

Over the weekend, I did get Mickael's first sock finished up and started the second sock. I'm about halfway down the leg of the second sock at this point and I'd really like to get the pair finished up. I should be knitting socks for my Knit Something of the Month Club for July and I'll be doing gloves (my first ever pair of gloves with actual fingers) for Camp Loopy Project 2, so I'll need to come up with some sort of plan to get everything done. Mickael's socks are the only one of these three projects that don't have a deadline. I did notice when I was photographing them for the blog, Dream in Color really nailed the name - Gray Tabby!

Isn't it funny how we keep giving ourselves all of these crafting deadlines? I picked some knee high socks for Loopy Camp which should be interesting to try to finish with everything else going on.
