Drive by Blogging

Just a quick post today and it's really more of an update.  The past two mornings Logan has drastically cut down on the drooling on the morning car ride!  He's still drooling a bit, but his neck fluff and his paws have been dry!  I think we really are getting somewhere with him and he's figuring out that he's going to survive a car ride.  Hoping we can continue moving in a positive direction and have a dog that likes riding in the car someday.  I'm really proud of him.

No blog tomorrow, Max is going to the vet for his yearly exam.  I'm sure it will be fun for everyone!  (Sometimes you have to keep a sense of humor to keep from crying, right?)  Poor Max isn't a fan of riding in the car OR going to the vet.

I feel for both you and Max. In my younger days I had a Siamese cat, Lola, and a little convertible. On the way to the vet, he cried/yowled so loud (in the way that only a Siamese can) that people on the sidewalks looked at me as if I was physically torturing my cat. I felt so bad for my very scared cat and super embarrassed at the same time.

Here's hoping that all goes well for you and Max on your great vet adventure.

We had a vet visit yesterday, too, only ours was unscheduled. Our 1 year old bernese mountain dog, Mia, found a porcupine in the back yard - about 10:30 last might. Her muzzel was so full of quills that we had to take her the vet ER. Fourtunately, she thinks car rides are big adventures, so that was not an issue. The issue? This is the second porky incident in the last 2 months.....

Poor Logan! Have you tried a Thundershirt on Logan. They work amazingly well for anxiety issues...we had thunder/firework anxiety...my niece's dog feared car rides, we have had much success with the Thundershirt.
